At West 7th Massage Therapy Clinic we have over 60 years of combined clinical experience. Our goal is to provide massage therapy treatments to help people recover from injuries, chronic pain issues and musculoskeletal disorders.

Our goal is to provide manual massage therapy techniques and home care, on an individual needs basis.

In order to do so, as highly trained therapists, we use some of the most effective massage therapy techniques for treating injuries, and musculoskeletal conditions.

Swedish Massage Technique

Swedish Massage Therapy includes a variety of therapeutic techniques such as the kneading of muscles, cross-fiber friction and gliding strokes.  Health benefits include: improving flexibility and circulation, easing muscular tension, pain management; to name a few.

Visceral Manipulation

Visceral Manipulation is a gentle approach used to address the organs, such as the colon, stomach, and liver to name a few. The goal is to encourage and support ease of movement of the organs in relationship to each other and surrounding structures. Restrictions and unhealthy compensations associated with organs, can present as musculoskeletal pain, postural distortions and joint dysfunction, therefore, visceral manipulation is an important consideration for optimal health.

Cranial Sacral Therapy

west7th-cranial-sacral-therapy-treatments-pageCranial Sacral Therapy involves the assessment of each of the many bones of the cranium and spine in respect to your cranial-spinal system.  Gentle, careful techniques are applied to restore symmetrical function and joint integrity.  It is helpful for symptoms of back pain, TMJ dysfunction (jaw pain), headaches, sinus congestion, motor vehicle accident related injuries and many more.

Muscle Energy Technique (MET)

MET is a contract/relax technique used to address joint dysfunction and muscular imbalances that can cause postural misalignment, pain, muscle spasm and chronic compensations.  Therapists assess and gently release joint restrictions to help restore alignment and improve muscle and nerve function.

Muscle Balance and Function Development System (MBF)

Muscle Balance and Function development system is a series of exercises designed to help postural realignment. Based on a detailed postural assessment, a customized program of a sequential series of exercise is developed to address the individual’s needs. The exercises require minimal equipment and can be done anywhere. An MBF exercise program will support changes made in treatment and can empower and promote optimal balance and function resulting in less pain, discomfort and dysfunction.

Fascial Release Therapy

west7th-fascial-release-treatments-pageFascia is connective tissue that surrounds and envelops all the structures in the body. Adhesion and restrictions in the fascia can create holding patterns, and limitations in movement. This can lead to discomfort, pain and dysfunction in the body. Releasing fascial adhesions and restrictions will allow greater ease of movement in the body, resulting in a decrease in discomfort, stiffness and pain as well as enhancing a greater sense of well-being.

Neuromuscular Therapy (St. John Method)

Neuromuscular Therapy is a specific deep tissue Massage technique which addresses the muscle tissue from origin to insertion, tendons and ligaments. It is very effective in normalizing tight and/or injured muscles, assisting in restoring postural alignment, as well as the treatment of chronic muscle, tendon and ligament conditions.

Dermoneuromodulation (DNM)

Dermoneuromodulation is manual contact on the skins surface that targets the central nervous system, peripheral nerves and skin. The goal is to change input and/or output, of the nervous system in order facilitate self-correction to help decrease pain.

Thermotherapy (Hot/Cold Stone Therapy)

Hot/cold Stone Therapy is the use of deep penetrating heat from smooth basalt rocks and alternating cold from marble stones, on the body. Stone therapy stimulates the circulatory and lymphatic systems and assists the body in self-healing. It goes beyond the physical experience of typical Massage, and enters deeper dimensions of relaxation and well-being.
